Christmas Tree Adventure

Our family has managed to turn putting up a Christmas tree into an all day adventure. It's always very tiring and very cold but, mostly, it's always very, very fun.

Yesterday we woke later than we typically do and were out of the house in full Wisconsin winter performance gear by 9 a.m.

After a stop at a local greasy spoon for pancakes and eggs it was off to the tree farm.

This year the hunt for the perfect tree was shorter than most. I'd say our search lasted less than an hour, which for us is fast. Hank was anxious to help cut down the Balsam Fir we chose.

Everyone (minus baby Elisabeth, of course) took turns cutting.

Carrying the tree back to the car... where's Superdad?

Maybe this Balsam will find its way into our living room in 2017.

Superdad ties the tree to the roof of the van and we're headed home to decorate.

And, we're done. Time to enjoy.

One of those memorable picture perfect days in the life of a whitefish bay family. Too good to be true ... so was it? I'll say "yes" for you.

Anyone else besides me having trouble seeing the pictures?

Oh dear... I tried viewing with Explorer and Firefox and the pictures showed up. Dad, could you see them?

I can't see them either :-(

I think it might be a memory problem, though it doesn't even help if I reboot. I can see them if I click on the little red x's one at a time. Looks like a fun day!

No pictures here either.

I'm really puzzled about people not being able to see the pictures.

Sixty-five, if it's a memory problem, I'm assuming that means there's nothing I could do on my end to fix the problem, right?

I can't understand why they'd show up on some computers and not others. I'm not computer savvy enough to figure this one out!

Just to add to the mystery, when I viewed the page for the first time only one picture appeared, and then little by little they showed up, usually after I had left the page and then come back. I can see them all now! Very cute!

We don't have our tree yet, but had lots of fun with gingerbread hosues this weekend.

The pics are not making their way to LA. Sad. I keep checking...trying. Let's see if Beecher's trick of just waiting for them to materialize works.
