I bought Elisabeth this beautiful edition of Little Red Riding Hood today. With that I am now done with shopping for both Elisabeth and Hank's birthdays (which are the fifteenth and seventeenth of October, respectively).
I love the story and, amazingly, it's a classic tale we don't already own.
And get this-- when I flipped to the first page I discovered that in this edition Little Red Riding Hood's real name is Elisabeth-- with an "s", just like our little Elisabeth.

Hmmmmmmnnnn. That's also the very book I bought Elisabeth for her first birthday. Well, well... do you have Snow White and Rose Red in your nursery library? Are their "real" names Elisabeth? If so, Snow White and Rose Red will join Little Red (Elizabeth) Riding Hood on the library shelf. If not, well, I guess I will arrive at the party without a gift.
Love those arty childrens book. When I was little I had the Velveteen Rabit in a similar arty drawing style...it remains in my library today! Have a great weekend!
