I'm interrupting my regularly scheduled blogging to make a very important announcement. Madeleine, at the age of six years and eight months has lost her first tooth and is just a wee bit excited about the event.
No, Superdad didn't really use the pliers. He used one of those rubber circles that are used for twisting lids off jars to pull the dangling tooth out.
Madeleine immediately started jumping around and screaming at the top of her lungs while racing into the bathroom so she could see what she looked like.
Madeleine tells us the Tooth Fairy's going rate for a tooth among her fellow first graders is $5. Seems a bit high to me but Madeleine is confident that that's what she'll receive since all the other kids did. It only seems fair...

Congratulations Madeleine! LOVE the photos. I expect that the Tooth Fairy will be VERY good to you, considering this is your first "lost" tooth! Can't wait to see what she brings you!
Yay! The fun begins!
$5, yikes, I thought our local tooth fairy was bad. But I hear you, you have to match the classmates' going tooth rates.
My kids said the rate was the same... the tooth fairy lost the memo as they got $2. Congrats Madeline!
Congrats to Madeleine! Isn't it exciting?!?
Jonah lost his first tooth in March at 5 1/2 years old (which I was thinking was early, who knows though?!?) and that was all he could talk about for days. He told us last night he has yet another loose one. Hmmm, by the end of the summer he isn't going to have any teeth left!
Hope the tooth fairy was good to Madeleine, I mean, it is her first lost tooth after all!
Very fun photos - especially the one with the pliers!
I think the going rate is way out of line. But since it was the first tooth I guess it is what it is. I think we'll have to negotiate a better deal with that little pixie next time.
I agree with Superdad! The first tooth is monumental, therefore, the exchange rate is considerably higher.
Congratulations Madeleine. I think toothless mouths (of children) are incredibly cute!!
I love all pics of Madeleine. She's so funny and so darn cute. Congrats!!!!
