To say that William F. Buckley has had a huge influence on me would be an understatement. His contributions to American political thought have been numerous and I will miss his ideas and writing enormously.
RIP, Mr. Buckley.

Bought hardcover God and Man at Yale in 1960.
Joined Intercollegiate Society of Individualists (founder was a WFB financial backer)in 1961.
Have survived in a society screwed up and plagued by smiling socialists and silly liberals (1960s to 1990s definition, not classic)since. WFB held off the deluge for a half century. Here it comes.
Charlie Rose (www.charlierose.com) was a good friend and admirer of WFB and did a wonderful tribute to him that included clips from appearances over the years, most all of which are archived on the site.
I will miss him too. Not for his ideals but his personality. Sometimes life (as he surely realized) is about more than politics.
I will miss his ideals and his personality.
Well I will miss his good fashion. :P
